Its day 3 of my nintendo Wii experiment.  So here goes- inspired by an online blogger, who claims to have lost 6 (or 9) pounds by playing wii sports for 30 min/day for 6 weeks.  So... I started doing it.  Today's the third day (haven't performed today's quota yet).  Right now my shoulders and back are quite sore.  I work up a sweat, but I don't think my heart rate gets up too much.  I guess the proof will be in the pudding.  Have stuck to tennis and boxing so far, as I think they give me the most bang for the buck

day 4- had a good run of boxing today, although I lost my last two matches.  As things usually go, as I get a little better at the game, I use less energy (unfortunately).  Afterwards, I did get a short game of baseball in with Xander- he beat me 2-1.  Jacky was very funny last night.  I said I was going to exercise, and she got very excited, started jumping up and down and saying "I exercise too!"  Not so sore today

day 6-Still able to keep up with the schedule, with the majority in boxing.  As you progress, its less about flailing wildly and more about timing.  I'vs actually gone online to get some tips (there's a lot more to the game than I initially thought).  However, with all this practice, Xander still beat me in boxing today (knocked me out even).  I guess his rapid fire punching and sometimes falling on the floor trumps my attempt at strategery.  I won my first baseball game, though.

day 9- Missed one day (day 7)- was able to do only 15 minutes.  I'm getting better at boxing, and a little better at baseball.  This game is a little deeper than I initially thought. But dad played an hour of wii golf the other day :)

day 13- still able to keep up with the 30 minutes a day so far.  While its not a challenge to beat the boxers anymore, and I don't throw punches like crazy, I can still work up a good sweat by dodging a lot.  Baseball training can also be quite strenuous.  I haven't really been doing tennis, though.  I'm trying to be consistent with weighing myself right after my "workout".

day 14- tough to get in a workout today, as we got home late- but I was able to fit it in- Ate A LOT today.  biceps and groin muscles are sore- go figure.

2/7/07

day 17- getting into a little bit of rhythm.  Still haven't tried too much of the bowling, tennis or golf- though.  Boxing is breeze now- most of the workout is side to side motion rather than punching.  Training mode in baseball can be a good workout at times

day 20- ran into a little bit of a snag in regards to the weights.  I don't know if I moved the scale, because my weight took a big jump after a general trend of going down.  I did eat a lot that day, though.  A bit discouraging, but I will perservere.

day 22- getting harder to get in a good workout.  I'm going to have to diversify, I guess.

day 25- still keeping on track- been almost 4 weeks now.  Looks like the Wii is not much of a weight loss tool, but it is keeping me active in the winter months.  The 4 player tennis is a blast, too.
